Over the past few years, the talk among many Charlotte Hornets fans has been the play of Nicolas Batum. Yes, he hasn’t lived up to that $120 million contract that he got during the summer of 2016, but that doesn’t make him a bad player. He’s in the NBA for a reason. He has been pretty underwhelming, though.
Batum will make over $25 million this season for the Hornets, and has a player option for the 2020-21 season worth over $27 million. Unless he plays extremely well and increases his trade value somehow, he will very likely play out the remainder of his contract in Charlotte.
