MKG was set to be the Charlotte Hornets’ starting small forward next to Nicolas Batum at the wing positions but that plan never came to fruition. Michael suffered a dislocated shoulder in the team’s preseason game against the Orlando Magic and it turned out that he would need surgery for a torn labrum that would keep him sidelined for six months time. Most thought his season was over but he worked to come back.
He made his return just over three and a half months after surgery against the Portland Trailblazers on January 29th.
