After five seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, Head Coach, Steve Clifford, has been relieved of his duties with the team. This firing comes after a tough year for Steve Clifford who missed a good portion of the season for health reasons and the Hornets who finished just 36-46.
During his tenure in Charlotte, Clifford finished with a 196-214 record with the team and saw a playoff birth only two times, both ending in first round exits. The Hornets failed to make the playoffs the past two seasons despite having a veteran roster, an all-star player, and one of the NBA’s highest pay rolls.
