A week ago, the Los Angeles Lakers' attempted trade for Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams was rescinded when he failed his physical exam. It was a pretty big disappointment for Lakers fans, who envisioned Williams as the team's starting center for years to come.
Williams, 23, has missed quite a few games in his three NBA seasons due to injury. However, he has shown quite a bit of growth and improvement, and he's averaging 15.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 25.0 minutes a game this season. While he does have a few defensive deficiencies, he can block shots as well as run the floor and finish strong at the rim, and he is an excellent rebounder.
