The winds of change are blowing through the Charlotte Hornets’ front office.
Mitch Kupchak, who’s served as the team’s president of basketball operations and general manager since 2018, is moving into a consultant role within the organization, multiple league sources told the Observer. A search for a new general manager will begin immediately and Kupchak will remain in his current post until a successor is found, sources said.
Hired in 2018 to replace Rich Cho, Kupchak helped restore things financially initially with the Hornets cap sheet in shambles due to the hefty contracts of Nic Batum, Cody Zeller
