The NBA free agency period officially opened up at 6:00 eastern time Sunday afternoon. The Charlotte Hornets had a quiet evening, but there were still plenty of things going on. While the big club didn’t register any transactions, there were reports of players joining the summer league squad that opens up play this Saturday. Here is the full squad as we know it so far. Players with (new) next to their name have been added since the last update linked above.
- Tidjane Salaun
- KJ Simpson
- Nick Smith Jr.
- Joel Soriano (big, St John’s)
- Drew Pember (forward, UNC Asheville)
- RaeQuan Battle (wing, most recently West Virginia)
- Kevin Cross (forward, Tulane) (new)
- Malik Hall (forward, Michigan State) (new)
- Matt Morgan (guard, most recently London Lions, played collegiately at Cornell) (new)
Seth Curry and JT Thor were handed their walking papers on the eve of free agency, and while nothing was reported, Marques Bolden appears on the Warriors’ summer league roster, so clearly the team has no interest in keeping him around.
