Atlanta has been shopping Dwight Howard for the past few months, hoping to move on from him after just one year with the franchise. The Hawks signed him to a three-year, $70.5 million deal this past offseason, meaning he has two fully guaranteed years left on his deal.
Charlotte was one of the teams pursuing Howard in free agency before he ultimately signed with his hometown Hawks. They have been looking for a starting center after letting Al Jefferson walk in free agency following the 2015-16 season.
Howard averaged 13.5 points and 12.7 rebounds per game this past season.
