In tonight's Hornets news update, two of the Charlotte Hornets' most important pieces going forward aren't wasting time when it comes to prepping for next season.
Via Aaron Blue of FanSided, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer is reporting that both Kemba Walker and Cody Zeller are forgoing the normal vacation time players are granted in the first month of the offseason:
Kemba Walker and Cody Zeller are back in Charlotte, beginning to work on their games again. Clifford said he’s in no rush for veteran center Al Jefferson to start working out, after Jefferson suffered a plantar fascia injury in the playoffs.
After getting their first taste of the NBA Playoffs in 2014, Zeller and Walker are seemingly doing everything they can to make 2015's potential return trip a more successful one.
Walker emerged as a key cog in the Charlotte Bobcats' surprising run to the East's #7 seed, and did his best to put them over the hump when they got there - averaging 19.5 points and 6 assists in the team's four games with the Heat.
Zeller was less of an integral piece in his rookie year (6 ppg, 4.3 apg in 82 games), but his work ethic foretells just how big of a contributor he's sees himself being in the coming years.
