Charlotte 49ers guard Jahmir Young was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season. He also earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors November 11th and 18th, January 6th, 20th, and 27th.

Young is the seventh player in league history to earn at least six Conference USA Freshman/Rookie of the Week honors since the award began in the 2008-09 season. He joins Charles Bassey (WKU), Jhivvan Jackson (UTSA), Marcus Evans (Rice), Ricky Tarrant (Tulane), Hassan Whiteside (Marshall) and Tyreke Evans (Memphis) as players that earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors at least six times.
