To sum up 2015 for Charlotte basketball in one word, it would be “change.” It all began in January when, then, 49ers head coach Alan Major took his second medical leave of absence in a year. At that point in the season, Charlotte was 6-7 and in the middle of a three-game losing streak. Major would not return and the two sides agreed to go their separate ways.
Charlotte would end the year at 14-18. Despite the losing season, it looked like there was a solid foundation for the 49ers to build upon.
Torin Dorn won Conference-USA “Freshman of the Year” after leading the team in scoring and conference freshman with 12 points per game.
