GREENVILLE, S.C. – Charlotte softball (21-16) split its midweek doubleheader with Furman (19-20), picking up a 4-0 victory in the nightcap after falling 6-1 in the first game in Greenville, S.C., Wednesday at Pepsi Stadium.
Sophomore pitcher Haley Wiseman hurled her sixth shutout of the season, picking up nine strikeouts in the process while scattering just two walks. The hurler is now tied for fourth in the nation in shutouts.
The Niners cranked out 12 hits in the finale, led by freshman Kiersten Berrier’s 3-for-4 day at the plate, complete with a RBI and stolen base.
