NEW YORK, NY – A perfect weekend in singles from junior Emma Wilkins that concluded with a title in the Winchester Draw led the Charlotte women's tennis team through the final two days of the Columbia Invitational.
Wilkins dropped just a single set in singles play up in New York, falling in the opening set on Sunday afternoon, before coming from behind to take down Columbia's Clarine Lerby in a third-set super tiebreak, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0(10-2).
Classmate Margaux Maquet, fell in a hard-fought two set affair in the final of the Brooklyn Draw, but finished the weekend with a productive and successful 2-1 weekend.
