CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Down five heading to the ninth, Charlotte baseball rallied for five runs to walk-off on FIU 10-9 in the Conference USA opener on Friday night. The 49ers scored the tying run on one of five wild pitches in the inning while Tate Pennington's swinging bunt towards third scored Hunter Jones with the game-winner.
"Tonight was not a well-played game, but I'm proud of our guys for hanging in there and coming back," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We have to play better tomorrow. FIU has really good arms, we weren't really good early on and weren't as good as we needed to be.
