CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - A dramatic comeback victory in the women's 4x400-meter relay and several record-worthy results highlighted the one and only day that Charlotte Track & Field competed in the Virginia Grand Prix at Lannigan Field.
In the Niners' final big event of the day, senior Kristen Williams anchored the women's 4x400-meter relay. When she was handed the baton, the 49ers were trailing, but she posted an impressive 53.94 seconds split to come back in the last few meters and earn the win, combining with her teammates for a time of 3:42.92.
Just before that, sophomore Matt Bomkamp was fantastic in the men's 1,500-meter race, running the second-fastest time in school history at 3:50.
