Jean Eason's road to Charlotte took some unusual turns. Coming out of high school in Oakland, CA, where Eason admits he was not the model student, he knew he needed to find a path for his life. He found that path by join the U.S. Army.
"I joined the Army because it was the only opportunity that I really had," Eason said. "I knew that I needed to do something else. I was in the Army from 2009 through 2012."
After completing boot camp, Eason joined the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment stationed in Germany, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2010.
