CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte volleyball opened up the Windy City Classic with a Friday split of action falling to North Dakota State 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 23-25, 9-15) before sweeping Niagara 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20) in the nightcap.

Charlotte (2-2) got off to a great start in the opening set racing out to a 7-1 lead thanks to a block by Nalani Lyde and Amani McArthur along with kills from Emani' Foster and McArthur. An ace by Lara Kretschmer forced a NDSU timeout at 18-13 before serving another one up the first play out of the stoppage.
