TAMPA, Fla. – Charlotte volleyball played a pair of matches over a six-hour span on Friday afternoon resulting in a split of each five-set match at the USF Classic. The Niners topped New Orleans 3-2 in the first match before a 17-15 defeat in the fifth against North Dakota ended in a 3-2 loss.

Charlotte opened up the USF Classic by finishing off a five-set thriller in dominating fashion topping New Orleans 3-2 (23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 15-5) on Friday afternoon. The 49ers put an exclamation point on the match ending things on a 7-0 run to beat the Privateers.
