CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte volleyball posted a .370 hitting percentage in the opening set and never looked back claiming a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-22) victory over Southern Miss in C-USA action on Sunday afternoon. The 49ers get back above .500 at 12-11 overall, 2-5 in league play while sending the Golden Eagles to 1-20, 0-7.
"Today was really exciting," started Head Coach Karen Weatherington. "Southern Miss took UTSA to five on Friday, they have a lot of new personnel and their record doesn't indicate what kind of a scrappy team they are. We lost a bit of focus in the third, but we got back in rhythm and were able to lock it down.
