HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Another meeting in the Charlotte-Marshall volleyball rivalry continued in its typical fashion going five sets as the Niners erased an 0-2 hole to claim a 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-10) victory to open up Conference USA action on Friday night. Charlotte closed out the match in emphatic fashion hitting .450 in the winner-take-all fifth.
Marshall (8-7, 1-0 C-USA) got off to a 6-4 head start after a Ciara Debell kill before a kill and ace from Molly Shaw helped tie things up 8-8. Reeana Richardson threw down three kills in a five-play span to put the Niners up 11-10.
