CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After securing a 3-1 win in the Charlotte Invitational's third match of the day over Presbyterian, Elon kept the momentum going scoring the same 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-20) decision over Charlotte on Friday night.
"I knew we were going to have a really good Elon team show up," stated Head Coach Karen Weatherington. "We always like to play Elon, but we played below our level tonight. I thought we didn't handle the ball well early and it dug us into a hole."
Elon (2-0) took quick control in the opening set grabbing a 7-3 lead on a Madi Genaway kill, but the Niners rallied right back on two-straight kills from Reeana Richardson, one from Nya Steele and another from Tyra Galloway to even the set 10-10.
