CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Powered by a .404 hitting percentage, the Charlotte volleyball team scored a 3-0 (25-13, 27-25, 25-14) victory at Virginia Tech wrapping up the Hokie Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Charlotte improves to 9-6 on the year while sending Virginia Tech to 7-5.
SETTING THE TONE
Trailing 7-4 early in the first, Charlotte got on a roll with seven-straight points to force a Virginia Tech timeout. Jocelyn Stoner posted three kills in the run with Molly Shaw adding two more. The Niners doubled the lead to 20-15 on kills from Sydney Rowan, Nalani Lyde and Lana Strejcek which forced another VT stoppage before Shaw inserted the dagger for the 25-13 win.
