CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte fell behind early and couldn't come all the way back dropping an 11-4 decision to Gardner-Webb on Tuesday night.
"We can't give up 11 runs, it's pretty simple," started Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We're immediately playing uphill and can't play station to station. We need to do a lot better pitching and a lot better moving around. The entire game starts on the mound. We just haven't consistently pitched at the level we need to including tonight. You've got to be efficient with pitching and defense."
Gardner-Webb (17-16) got on the board in the first converting a two-out single into a two-run homer by Corey Howard for a 2-0 head start.
