With the buildings of Uptown looming over the outfield, the Charlotte 49ers took the field at BB&T Ballpark for the final time Tuesday, April 5 against Winthrop.
The date marked the final game in the Uptown trifecta the 49ers scheduled for the season.
They first made the trip to BB&T March 8, against Georgia. Logan Sherer went 4-for-4 against the Bulldogs while 3-for-5 outings from T.J. Nichting and Drew Ober helped give the Niners the 10-5 win over the Southeastern Conference opponent.
Charlotte made their next appearance Uptown facing Atlantic Coast Conference foe N.C. State. The outcome wasn’t favorable for the guys in green dropping the game 7-1.
