CHARLOTTE – An uncharacteristic 17 turnovers by the Charlotte 49ers led to their 83-68 loss to visiting Tulane on Tuesday, Dec. 31, in the American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball opener.
"Disappointing result today, obviously," said Charlotte Head Men's Basketball Coach Aaron Fearne. "[We] just didn't play very well, but credit to them [Tulane]. We have taken good care of the ball throughout the year, and today we did not, and that really, really hurt us."
The Niners entered Tuesday averaging the second-fewest turnovers in the nation, but against the Green Wave, Charlotte tied a season-high with 17 turnovers.
