Charlotte, NC – The Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team, who has captured two Conference USA regular-season titles in the last four years, were picked second in the Conference USA preseason poll in a vote by the league's nine head coaches. Senior defender Callum Montgomery was tabbed as the Conference USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Joining Montgomery on the preseason All-Conference USA team are redshirt senior forward Daniel Bruce and senior midfielder Tommy Madden.
The 49ers return 15 letterwinners and eight starters off a 2017 team which reached the Conference USA Tournament championship game.
