This week in 49ers history highlights one of Charlotte women's cross country stars, Katie Kerin, who set a then-school record at the UNC Charlotte Invitational on October 3, 1992. She posted a time of 17:38 to finish first in the meet.
Kerin helped the women's team to conference championship in 1992 and a silver medal conference team finish in 1990. Kerin was named the team MVP both of those seasons for her efforts.
Kerin was a two-time, All-Sun Belt Team selection (1988, 1990) after finishing seventh and second in the conference championships, respectively.
