On October 16, 2010, the 49ers volleyball team defeated Temple 3-2 in front of a school-record setting crowd of 1,803 in the ninth-annual “Dig Pink” match. Setter Sheri Davis (pictured above) nearly had her first career triple double in the victory with 35 assists, nine kills and eight digs in the victory. Bianca Rouse put down 11 kills for a match high with Amanda Videmsek added 10. Charlotte rallied back from an early 0-1 deficit to win the second and third sets, 25-19 and 25-16, before clinching the match 15-8 in the fifth.

Charlotte was where “Dig For the Cure” was founded, by then-head coach Lisa Marston, for the 2002 season.
