April 2, 2009 - Charlotte 49ers forward Charlie Coley awed Niner Nation with his amazing dunking ability, capping off his Niners career by reaching the finals of the NCAA Slam Dunk Contest at the Palace in Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit, Michigan. The Slam Dunk Contest takes place during the Final Four weekend.
Prior to the NCAA Slam Dunk Contest, Coley won back-to-back 49ers Slam Dunk contests at Charlotte’s Basketball Madness. During the 49ers Slam Dunk Contest, Coley jumped over 6-10 center Phil Jones for one dunk, jumped over DiJuan Harris riding a stationary bike for another dunk and jumped over a chair on a folding table for another dunk.
