CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte's men and women's 3,000m steeplechase runners swept the podium collectively during the first day of the Charlotte Invitational, while Stevan Veselinovic and Jayquan Williams won their respective events at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center on Friday.
MEN'S PERFORMANCES-
Redshirt senior Tom Nobles led the way for the men in the 3,000m steeplechase, winning the event for the second-consecutive year in 8:56.98. Alex Cornwell followed in second-place, running a 9:04.68, good for the fifth-best time in school history. Mihret Coulter capped off the podium for the 49ers with a 9:10.
