Softball Falls to USF 2-3 In Hard-Fought Battle

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte Softball dropped the opening game of a three-game conference series against USF 2-3 in a hard-fought battle to open up home conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Charlotte scored first in the bottom of the first after Teagan Ritchie came around on a Jenna Lord double. Ritchie was called safe on the field initially, South Florida chose to challenge the play, but the call was upheld due to obstruction at the plate.

The Niners remained the 1-0 lead until the bottom of the sixth when Teagan Ritchie hit her eighth homer of the season,and third of the week to put Charlotte ahead 2-0.
