TULSA, Okla. -- Sydney Smith rocketed a laser past the Tulsa keeper from 50 yards out in the final minute of the first half to open the scoring in Charlotte Women's Soccer's 2-0 victory over the Golden Hurricane on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 20).

Smith took a pass from Laura Cate Westerbeek after the latter received a throw-in from Serena Spitz, and Smith decided to put it on net from just inside the halfway mark since she was unmarked. The choice paid off as she sent a perfect strike just under the crossbar to get Charlotte (2-7-6, 1-2-4 AAC) on the board - scoring the Green and White's first goal since the 27th minute against Memphis three contests ago on Oct.
