DALLAS – Freshman forward Axel Sigurdarson of the ninth-ranked Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
PERFORMANCES LAST WEEK
Last week, Sigurdarson played an integral role in helping the 49ers tally two road wins. He scored the game-winning goal in the 49ers' 2-1 win at Furman last Tuesday. He was also fouled in the box which gave Charlotte the penalty kick that led to their first goal of the Furman match. Then, he scored Charlotte's first goal in the 49ers' 3-1 win at Florida Atlantic last Saturday.
