The Charlotte 49ers baseball program, in conjunction with the 49ers' Athletic Foundation, will be hosting its second annual First Pitch Event to open up the beginning of the spring baseball season.
The virtual event will be held via Zoom on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.
Charlotte's second-year head coach Robert Woodard will host the event, which will feature accomplished guest speakers Mike Shildt and Daniel Bard, who both boast strong ties to the Charlotte region and the 49ers baseball program. As manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, Shildt was named 2019 National League Manager of the Year.
