Charlotte, N.C. – Behind goals by Maclean Holbrook, Patrick Hogan and Teddy Chaouche, the 21st-ranked Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team cruised past Gardner-Webb, 3-0, in their season-opener at Transamerica Field.
GOALS
In the 24th minute, Joe Brito found Maclean Holbrook just inside the six-yard box. Holbrook put Brito's pass into the back of the net for the 49ers first goal of the season.
In the 73rd minute, Chaouche sent a corner kick into the top of the six-yard box to Hogan who headed the ball toward the goal.
