DENTON, Texas -- Charlotte women's tennis saw its 2017 campaign come to a close Friday, as the 49ers dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 41 FIU in the Conference USA Championships Quarterfinals. The Niners, seeded No. 7, advanced to face the No. 2 seed Panthers after knocking off Louisiana Tech in Thursday's opening round.
FIU (20-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead following doubles action, earning victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. Freshman Immie Cowper and sophomore Tai Martin, the duo which clinched the point for Charlotte (11-10) Thursday, posted the most games won with two between the two positions.
