LEXINGTON, Ky. - Junior distance runner Caroline Sang punched her ticket to the NCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships with a sixth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run at the 2017 NCAA East Prelims at the University of Kentucky's Outdoor Track & Field Complex Thursday evening.
Needing a top-12 finish to advance to Nationals which will take place next month in Eugene, Oregon, Sang ran the fastest race of her career with a time of 33.42.68 to place sixth while going up against 47 of the fastest runners in the nation. The time improves upon her previous personal-best in the event of 33:44.
