BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Charlotte women's tennis won the doubles point for the second-straight match then tacked on four singles victories to pick up a 5-2 triumph over Gardner-Webb Tuesday afternoon.
"It was a great, hard-fought match today," head coach Michaela Gorman said.
The 49ers opened the day by earning two doubles wins, at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, to claim the point for the second time this spring.
Charlotte (1-2) received a 6-2 triumph at the No. 1 spot from the tandem of freshman Pierina Imparato and junior Megan Smith, as it knocked off the Runnin' Bulldogs' Sandra Bolstad and Daniela Naupari.
