COLUMBIA, S.C. – Freshman Riley Felts took to the top of the history books at Charlotte, clearing 3.85m (12' 7.5") in the pole vault at Saturday's Carolina Challenge from the Carolina Indoor Track and Field Complex in Columbia, S.C.
Felts, a freshman, vaulted a mark of 3.85m (12' 7.5") on her third attempt to claim the Charlotte indoor track and field school record for the women's pole vault. Felts cleared the first two heights of 3.40m and 3.55m on her first attempts. She then topped the 3.70m marker on her second try, before hitting her new personal record 3.
