CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It was an all-around dominant performance as Jaedon Richardson and Natsuki Ogata scored goals for the 49ers, and the Charlotte defense held visiting Furman (2-1-1) to just three total shots in the 2-0 shutout of the Paladins on Monday evening (September 2) at Transamerica Field.
The Niners improved to 2-0-1 after outshooting Furman 16-3. Richardson scored his second goal in consecutive games, giving Charlotte a 1-0 lead less than a minute before halftime. In the 64th minute, Ogata scored his first goal of the season (and first since October 22, 2023).
