CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 'next player up' mentality prevailed Saturday for the Charlotte women's basketball program, as it used six players the majority of the contest and finished strong with its highest-scoring fourth quarter of the season to knock off Conference USA East Division-leading Middle Tennessee 82-72 inside Halton Arena. The shorthanded 49ers were undeterred in the #Play4Kay battle of the two-top teams in the division live on ESPN+ and 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte.
#PLAY4KAY
Charlotte was inspired by the annual #Play4Kay movement nationally across women's basketball, wearing pink uniforms and helping to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
