CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An in-bounds play with 2.9 seconds to left in overtime found its way into the hands of senior Laia Raventós, who worked her way free from a pair of defenders before launching a corner 3-pointer to give Charlotte women's basketball a thrilling 88-85 overtime victory over Wright State Tuesday inside Halton Arena. The first meeting between the two foes was played in front of a 49ers' women's basketball-record crowd of 8,249 and gave the Niners their eighth-straight triumph on the annual Education Day.
Raventós started the play by in-bounding the ball to sophomore Octavia Jett-Wilson before quickly receiving it back.
