CHARLOTTE – After trailing by 24 points in the second half, the Charlotte 49ers (3-2) had a chance to force overtime, but potential game-tying three-pointer rimmed out as the buzzer sounded, resulting in a 79-76 win for visiting Long Island (3-3) on Saturday (Nov. 23) afternoon at Halton Arena.
"Obviously disappointing that we could not get across the line," said Charlotte Head Coach . "We dug ourselves an extremely big hole to get out of, but credit to the guys, they battled. We gave ourselves a chance, we had a shot at the buzzer to tie it up, send it to overtime, it rimmed out so we will get back to the court and get ready for Wednesday.
