NEW YORK, N.Y. — Charlotte Men's Soccer's Ian Pilcher was selected 24th overall in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft by San Diego FC on Friday (Dec. 20) afternoon.
The senior defender became the fifth 49er in program history to be chosen in the first round and the 17th Charlotte player overall.
"We are very excited for Ian and look forward to watching his future career with pride," said Charlotte Head Men's Soccer Coach Kevin Langan. "San Diego is not only getting a great player but also an incredible young man."
During his four-year career at Charlotte, Pilcher guided the 49ers to consecutive American Athletic Conference Championships in 2023 and 2024, along with three NCAA Tournament appearances (2021, 2023, 2024).
