CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte men's golf posted a five-over round of 289 to sit tied for eighth in a tightly-contested day one of the NCAA Kingston Springs Regional. With two rounds remaining, the 49ers are just eight shots back of the fifth and final transfer spot for the NCAA Championship at the end of the month.

Dongjin Park led the way for Charlotte in the opening round with an even par 71. Park began his day with back-to-back birdies on the opening holes before a double and one final birdie on the front at nine turned him at one-under 35.
