Junior shortstop Haley Pace (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has been named Conference USA's Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year as announced by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR). The C-USA Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards are presented to the top student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport, determined by the league's 14 FARs. The award is based on academic achievement, athletic achievement and service.
Pace, who earned First Team College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic all-America honors, this spring, broke Charlotte's single-season records for batting average (.433), slugging percentage (.487), runs scored (53), home runs (15) and tied the record for hits (71).
