CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Haley Pace powered the Charlotte offense, while Alison Green quieted the Western Carolina bats in the Niners 7-3 victory Wednesday at Daughtridge Stadium.
Pace was a double shy of hitting for the cycle, with three hits in four at-bats. Her towering 3-run homer over the left centerfield wall in the fourth, capped off a 4-run inning for the 49ers (13-26). It gave them a 6-0 lead over the visiting Catamounts (9-24).
Green earned her first win of the season, scattering three hits in 5.0 innings of work. She walked two and struck out a season high five batters, while allowing three runs, with just one of those earned.
