IRVING, Texas - Punter Michael O'Shaughnessy and quarterback Trexler Ivey received recognition by the American Athletic Conference on Monday for their play in Saturday's dramatic comeback victory over Gardner-Webb, the league announced.
O'Shaughnessy, a transfer to Charlotte by way of Michigan State, was named the league's Special Teams Player of the Week while Ivey, who entered the game in the fourth quarter after an injury to starter Deshawn Purdie, was one of five players named to the honorable mention list for the week. It is the first Special Teams Player of the Week honor for the Niners since Grant Gonya earned the same recognition on Sept.
