NORFOLK, Va. - The Charlotte men's soccer team fell to Old Dominion 1-0, in a hard-fought Conference USA Championship Sunday at the Old Dominion Soccer Complex.
"When you play ODU, you have to get the basics right," head coach Kevin Langan said. "They are a very tight and physical team. We did that for 80-percent of the game and had a couple opportunities. Ryan Spaulding rattles one off the post and we had a couple other chances."
Niko Klosterhalfen gave Old Dominion a 1-0 lead when he gathered in a loose ball inside the 18-yard box and drove a shot into the bottom left corner of the net past the sprawling goalkeeper, Elliot Panicco, at the 27:21 mark of the first half.
