BOCA RATON, Fla. — No. 57 Charlotte Women's Tennis won a marathon doubles point before sweeping singles to earn a flawless 4-0 win over South Florida on Saturday at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
It marked the 49ers' 11th sweep in 16 tries as part of a 13-3 start.
The 49ers used Sara Suchankova and Amira Badawi's opening 6-2 win to grab a quick edge in doubles before a marathon match at No. 3 clinched Charlotte's first point. Partners Shona Nakano and Ni Xi rebounded from their first loss on Friday to upend South Florida's Josefine Falster and Charlotte Ruud 7(7)-6(5) for the deciding victory.
