CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 14th-ranked Charlotte 49ers (6-3-1) play the 16th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels (7-4-3) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park Field #2 in Cary, North Carolina, on Sunday, May 2 at 5 p.m.
NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The 49ers are making their 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Charlotte has earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament in nine of the last ten years. The 49ers have made the NCAA Tournament in eight of Coach Langan's nine years as head coach. Charlotte has reached the College Cup twice in 1996 and 2011, where the 49ers reached the College Cup Finals.
